We live in an age of endless diet and nutrition advice, so much so that we often become overwhelmed with information. Mostly, we agree on the basics: Sugar is generally bad, alcohol is okay in moderation, and Doritos should probably be left on the shelves at the convenience store.
Still, with all that general info, it’s hard to see exactly how destructive sugar, fat, and alcohol are on our bodies. Luckily, one Dutchman named Sacha Harland wanted to find out. He gave up processed, fatty, and sugary foods for a month (along with alcohol), to see how it would effect his physical and mental well-being. See his surprising results below.
